Find 4 ways to maintaining 20s your skin

It is unfortunate to think that one’s 20s are the peak of one’s life. After all, we’re only done with (at most) one-quarter of what life has to offer. There should be greater things ahead than any we leave behind.
That said, there is a modicum of truth that the skin you have in your 20s is the standard you’ll find yourself constantly striving towards for the rest of your life. This is probably thanks to the fact that after 20 years, you’ve grown comfortable with your skin, so you’re confident enough to experiment with the right products that keep skin firm, elastic, soft and radiant.
Thanks to Lancome’s Renergie range, there are more products for you to pick from, in your quest to maintaining 20s skin.
Cop these 4 tips and products:
Too often we slap on products without realising the importance of massaging our skin at the same time. The Renergie French Lift™ that comes with an innovative massage disk, which simulates the expert touch of a beauty therapist, so you can practice massaging your skin in the comfort of your home. Here’s to better blood circulation and elastic skin.
Lift your spirits (and skin) with the Renergie Multi-Lift Day Cream, a godsend to combat gravity and time. Apply it to your forehead and skin, and within four weeks, your skin will appear smoother and replumped with moisture. Without being stretched too taut, your skin’s surface will appear firmer too.
No matter whether you’re 25 or 45, pretty peepers can take years off your age. Especially important, however, isn’t so much the actual iris, but instead the delicate skin around the eye area. Applying the Renergie Multi-Lift Anti-Wrinkle and Firming Eye Cream will make your eye contour appear visibly lifted, supple and smoother.

It’s not rocket science – dull skin is unattractive and tends to make one look much older. Like you should carry around a water bottle to drink up during the day, you should also include the Renergie Multi-Lift Redefining Beauty Lotion into your beauty regime to benefit from its hydration. The lotion penetrates skin quickly, leaving skin instantly moisturised.

Classic handbags get an iconoclastic makeover

The French luxury house Louis Vuitton has a reputation for creating must-have bags via its collaborations with famous artists from around the world – cherries from Takashi Murakami; dots from Kusama and the original blockbuster, the Multicolour monogram from Murakami have all made a name for the brand and become “it” bags.

Louis Vuitton The Icon and The Iconoclasts bag collaboration GROUP SHOT

Now the brand has gone one better, well actually six better, and collaborated with six creative individuals who are known for doing their own thing, these “iconoclasts” have taken the LV icon, the brand’s famous Monogram print in its distinctive brown and gold, and created their very own, very conceptual bags – which we can actually buy!

CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN

Louis Vuitton The Icon and The Iconoclasts bag collaboration CL

Famous for his shoes, Christian Louboutin naturally enough included his iconic colour, red, in his pieces for Louis Vuitton. He felt that he wanted to contribute something that was “unmistakably Parisian” and came up with the caddy – basically the wheeled, pull-along shopping trolley. Apparently they’re everywhere in Paris says Louboutin: “The bag is totally attached to the sight of somebody shopping in the markets of Paris – I once tried to count the numbers of caddies I met in two hours at a Parisian market: 109!” Alongside this amazing – and amazingly expensive – caddy, Louboutin also created two lovely, classically shaped handbags which are much more reasonably priced and easier to use every day.

CINDY SHERMAN

Louis Vuitton The Icon and The Iconoclasts bag collaboration CS
Cindy Sherman has always wanted a Louis Vuitton trunk apparently, so she created her dream version in colours based on her pet parrot and compartments with handwritten labels for things like fake eyeballs and fake teeth. Then to continue the fantasy she added old looking labels to the exterior using her own artwork for the stickers. The useable version is based on a camera bag or messenger bag … much easier for the ordinary person to tote around.

FRANK GEHRY

Louis Vuitton The Icon and The Iconoclasts bag collaboration FG
An architect famous for weird and unusual shapes, Frank Gehry simply thought he’d try to make his own version of a handbag, and was surprised when Louis Vuitton loved it. Although the shape is odd, he worked with the brand to make sure that it could actually be used: “I spent time with Louis Vuitton to talk about the refinement of details, the clasp, the whole of it.” Although this neat little bag looks a bit odd, it’s actually very practical.

KARL LAGERFELD

Louis Vuitton The Icon and The Iconoclasts bag collaboration KLLouis Vuitton The Icon and The Iconoclasts bag collaboration KL 2

Kaiser Karl came up with a number of ideas apparently but all of them were boxing related. As to why, well, he quoted Voltaire: “‘Everything that needs an explanation, isn’t worth the explanation.’ So what can I explain?” Yes, well. Anyway … if you want to punch something that’s worth thousands and thousands of dollars you can snap up a Karl Lagerfeld for Louis Vuitton boxing bags; with matching travel trunk, of course. A bit easier on the wallet are the cute little bucket bags that he created to go with it.

MARC NEWSON
Louis Vuitton The Icon and The Iconoclasts bag collaboration MN
Known for his elegant yet practical industrial design, it was obvious that Marc Newson would think about creating something useable for his piece for Louis Vuitton. “I design things that fundamentally I would like to own,” he explains. This time I ultimately thought of the typology myself: a backpack. I wanted to concentrate all of the features that I love and try and put them into the piece.” His backpack is practically perfect when it comes to the blend of practicallity and fashion; it not only looks amazing but it really does its job too … and it comes in three cool colours.

REI KAWAKUBO
Louis Vuitton The Icon and The Iconoclasts bag collaboration RK
The creative brain behind Comme des Garçons, Rei Kawakubo was bound to do something different. Instead of going all crazy and creating something never seen before, the designer “broke” the tradition of a Louis Vuitton tote by adding holes (there’s an interior liner though so all your stuff is safe). “When designing the bag for this project, I was looking for some new design, something that hadn’t been done before, something within the limits of possibility,” Kawakubo explains. In many way this most conceptual of bags is actually the most useable … a great mix of art and design.

Born in South Korea, Raphael was adopted and raised in Romans, the birthplace of French luxury shoe making; his uncle is bootmaker Alexandre Narcy who worked with Yves Saint Laurent in the 1960s. Raphael created his first pair of shoes when he was 14-years-old, and continues to create his label’s collection prototypes by hand, he also studied engineering and combines this knowledge with the traditional skills of a cobbler.
“I can understand the importance of physics and mechanics, as well as art and sculpture. We all work with the same fundamental materials and when you break it down it is all about balance, volume, density and lines of force,” says Raphael.
Raphael worked for Manish Arora, Elie Saab, Louise Goldin and Hannah Marshall, before establishing his own label in 2008 in Paris. His shoes are not only worn by Beyoncé, Lady Gaga and Rihanna, but also Sarah  Jessica  Parker,  Halle  Berry and  Monica  Bellucci are also fans.

Before moving to New York in 2011 to head the shoes and accessories design team at Calvin Klein Collection, Raphael launched his revolutionary R-Flex, flexible stiletto shoes, that are are said to be as comfortable as wearing ballet flats.
Raphael says he was drawn to working with Raoul particularly because of its heritage and position as an Asian fashion label. “I look forward to working with Odile and the rest of the Raoul team. Raoul exemplifies the coming of age of the Asian fashion brand. They are confident, forward-looking and totally appreciative of craftsmanship,” he says.
For FJ Benjamin, the owner of Raoul, the collaboration is part of the brand’s efforts to improve the overall quality of its accessories and shoes for the Raoul customer. “Our decision to sign up Raphael shows our commitment to invest in this business and to offer our customers the ideal choice of accessories to complete the Raoul look or to create individual styles as desired,” explains Raoul co-creative director Douglas Benjamin, who is also the chief operating officer of FJ Benjamin Group.
So, Singapore fashionistas, stay tuned for the Raoul Pre-Fall 2014 collection; the shoes and bags are certain to be lust-worthy, must-have buys.

Lucy Choi arrives at The Outnet.com

Jimmy Choo’s niece, Lucy Choi is a shoe designer in her own right and her eponymous brand of footwear makes their debut on The Outnet.com

The saying “it runs in the family’ certainly rings true in the fashion industry. Donatella has continued her brother’s Gianni’s legacy at the house of Versace and the Missonis have kept the business in the family. Now, the fashion world can add Jimmy Choo and his niece, Lucy to the list of notable fashion families.
Lucy Choi isn’t riding on her famous uncle’s coattails - she worked for Choo as an apprentice in her youth and was also the Managing Director at French Sole. In 2012, she launched her own footwear brand and has proved to be an extraordinary shoe designer in her own right.
With the knowledge and experience she has amassed, Choi’s shoes aims to deliver a combination of designer style and comfort at prices between that of the luxury and high street labels. Her shoes are simple, wearable classics – nothing too flashy but still without a doubt - making a statement with their designs.
Her footwear caters to events from day to night. Girlie flats with bow details are ideal for a busy day in the office while sexy peeptoe pumps in a smattering of fabrics from lace, leather and suede will be perfect date night.

“Our label has become synonymous with telling stories of conservation and heritage and this new collection is no exception,” explains Choo Yilin, the founder behind the eponymous brand.
“Peranakan culture has been something that Singaporeans and other Southeast Asians hold very proudly, not least because it’s truly distinctive to that region of the world. Our aim with this collection was to make the culture, traditionally associated with a very heavy ethnic cast, accessible to the modern Cosmopolitan woman.”
Not only will the Peranakan collection (pictured above) use “up-cycled” wood, 50 per cent of the bronze has also been sourced sustainably. The bronze will be gilded in 18K gold and the pieces will also feature the brightly coloured precious and semi-precious gemstones ‒ like amethysts, rhodolite garnets, white topazes and sapphires ‒ that Choo Yilin is known for.

Timeless beauty of slate in Harry Winston’s Midnight Monochrome watch

With its Midnight Monochrome watch design, Harry Winston reimagines the radical beauty of slate in delicate shades of grey

The Harry Winston Midnight Monochrome watch theme was inspired by the somewhat humble ancient building material slate. Discreet shades of grey are incorporated onto a silver-white dial embellished with a damask effect that mimics the planes of a piece of slate and adds visual texture to the Midnight Monochrome watch.
Harry Winston Midnight Monochrome ladies watch DECOR
In contrast to the men’s model, Harry Winston’s Midnight Monochrome watch for ladies replaces white gold with rose gold, providing a softer hue to the watch case, bezel, indices and hands.
Diamonds have been meticulously inserted into the bezel and quarter indices to enhance its elegance. A satin strap attaches to the watch case with an 18K rose gold ardillon buckle to complete the design of the Midnight Monochrome watch.
With sophistication in simplicity, the Harry Winston Midnight Monochrome watch is another iconic timepiece for any lover of minimalist style.

Design your own Longchamp Le Pliage bag

Make your Le Pliage stand out from the crowd; customise it with Longchamp’s Sur Mesure service which is back in Singapore for a limited time only.

Design your own Longchamp Le Pliage bagLike almost every other Singaporean girl out there, I love the Longchamp Le Pliage for a variety of reasons. It is super lightweight, is water resistant, affordable, versatile and available in a wide array of pretty colours.
My favourite amongst all the Le Pliage models though, has to be the travel bag, which is my go-to bag whenever I travel. For a short weekend getaway, the bag can fit all I need - including an oversized straw hat. For longer trips, the foldable Le Pliage fits perfectly into my suitcase without taking up much space and will fit all my shopping buys that I’ve accumulated by the end of the trip.
One gripe I’ve had with the travel size Le Pliage is that it isn’t available in the long handled version that I’ve come to love in their Le Pliage shopping tote bag. Plus, because the Le Pliage is such a well-loved bag, I really would like my bag to stand out from everyone else’s so I can spot it at a glance.
Thanks to the return of the wildly popular Longchamp Sur Mesure service - the last time it was available in Singapore was in 2011 - I can finally get a Le Pliage customised to my preferences.
It really couldn’t be simpler to design my dream Longchamp Le Pliage; first, choose a preferred size. Pick from six sizes - four bag sizes and two small accessory pouches; then decide on the handle length. Next - the hardest part for me - pick two colours from more than 10 swatches, one colour as a main colour, the second as an accent colour for the chunky stripe down the middle of the Le Pliage.
Then, once you’ve decided on the colour combination, pick your desired hardware colour, there are three to pick from, gold, silver or gunmetal. Finally, decide if you want to emboss or embroider your name or a phrase onto the bag, the embossing goes onto the leather flap and is limited to a maximum of three characters while the embroidery goes directly onto the bag itself, and can accommodate approximately eight characters, depending on the chosen font.
Design your own Longchamp Le Pliage bag
I had a hard time deciding which two colours to pick. Should I err on the safe side and go for a tried-and-tested colour combi like navy and red? Or should I take a risk and go for a bold pink on orange mix? After much thought, I decided to play it relatively safe and went for a red bag with a purplish-blue accent colour called bilberry instead of a typical navy blue.
I also opted to emboss my initials (CCCC) on the leather flap but opted out of embroidering anything on the bag; I didn’t have anything clever to say and it didn’t make sense to put my name there again.
Now all that’s left to do is to wait. I am told that I will have to wait approximately four to six weeks for it to make its way to me. I can hardly wait.
The Longchamp Sur Mesure customisation service is exclusively available until May 25 at the Longchamp pop-up store in Paragon (Atrium 2). Prices begin from $89 for a Le Pliage coin purse with additional costs for the long handle, embossing and embroidering.

Eva Mendes, the new face of Vogue Eyewear

Eva Mendes replaces Kate Moss as face of Vogue Eyewear

Vogue Eyewear has revealed its new spring/summer 2013 campaign featuring Eva Mendes. The American actress is following in the footsteps of Kate Moss, who was previously a brand ambassador.
The campaign was shot in a house up above West Hollywood last October by famous fashion photographer Mario Testino, who has been collaborating with Vogue Eyewear for several years.
The photographs emphasize the glamour and femininity of the Spring/Summer 2013 designs.
Eva Mendes, the new face of Vogue Eyewear Eva Mendes, the new face of Vogue Eyewear
Vogue Eyewear's new designs are inspired by catwalk trends: cat's eye and aviator styles, retro squared shapes and oversized square frames.
"I really love glasses. Whether they are prescription glasses or sunglasses, they are an extension of your personality and such a fantastic accessory I love to mix and match and play with different looks, depending on my mood and my outfit. My favorites are frames that have a slightly retro feel, specifically a little wink to the 50s, 60s or 70s," explained Eva Mendes.
As the face of Thierry Mugler's Angel, the actress -who stars in The Place Beyond the Pines - is making her mark in the world of fashion and beauty.
Past brand ambassadors for Vogue Eyewear include Kate Moss, Daria Werbowy and Gisele Bundchen.
