SEE PHOTOS: New Chanel Boy bags for Summer 2013 and how Alice Dellal wears them
Alice Dellal is proud to combine "punk attitude with couture spirit" for Chanel.
The model became one of the faces of the French fashion house last year, when creative director Karl Lagerfeld chose her to front a bag campaign.
For Spring/Summer 13, Alice is seen posing with horses while sporting the new season of carry cases. She is still amazed she is working with the company.
"I definitely think you can combine punk attitude with couture spirit," she gushed to British magazine Glamour. "To me Chanel is elegant, sexy, cool - and you can mix pieces into your look and make it your own; I like to wear one of their classic boucle jackets with denim shorts. My rule is mix it up, never play it safe."
Karl took the campaign images and although he has a reputation for being acid-tongued, Alice found him a joy to work with.
"Working with a photographer you want to feel relaxed and comfortable. Karl is great at making you feel good about yourself," she explained.
The feeling is mutual, with Karl praising Alice for her courageous attitude. He loves that she isn't afraid to push herself and says she has "style in the extreme".
The model and designer have a strong friendship and Alice has no problem sharing ideas with Karl. He is always open to hearing her thoughts and she can't believe she's in such a privileged position.
"To be a Chanel icon was completely unexpected. When I think of all the Chanel ambassadors - Vanessa Paradis, Blake Lively, Lily Allen - I feel very honoured," she said.
