Make your Le Pliage stand out from the
crowd; customise it with Longchamp’s Sur Mesure service which is back
in Singapore for a limited time only.
Like almost every other Singaporean girl out there, I love the Longchamp Le Pliage for a variety of reasons. It is super lightweight, is water resistant, affordable, versatile and available in a wide array of pretty colours.
My favourite amongst all the Le Pliage models though, has to be the travel bag, which is my go-to bag whenever I travel. For a short weekend getaway, the bag can fit all I need - including an oversized straw hat. For longer trips, the foldable Le Pliage fits perfectly into my suitcase without taking up much space and will fit all my shopping buys that I’ve accumulated by the end of the trip.
One gripe I’ve had with the travel size Le Pliage is that it isn’t available in the long handled version that I’ve come to love in their Le Pliage shopping tote bag. Plus, because the Le Pliage is such a well-loved bag, I really would like my bag to stand out from everyone else’s so I can spot it at a glance.
Thanks to the return of the wildly popular Longchamp Sur Mesure service - the last time it was available in Singapore was in 2011 - I can finally get a Le Pliage customised to my preferences.
It really couldn’t be simpler to design my dream Longchamp Le Pliage; first, choose a preferred size. Pick from six sizes - four bag sizes and two small accessory pouches; then decide on the handle length. Next - the hardest part for me - pick two colours from more than 10 swatches, one colour as a main colour, the second as an accent colour for the chunky stripe down the middle of the Le Pliage.
Then, once you’ve decided on the colour combination, pick your desired hardware colour, there are three to pick from, gold, silver or gunmetal. Finally, decide if you want to emboss or embroider your name or a phrase onto the bag, the embossing goes onto the leather flap and is limited to a maximum of three characters while the embroidery goes directly onto the bag itself, and can accommodate approximately eight characters, depending on the chosen font.
Now all that’s left to do is to wait. I am told that I will have to wait approximately four to six weeks for it to make its way to me. I can hardly wait.
The Longchamp Sur Mesure customisation service is exclusively available until May 25 at the Longchamp pop-up store in Paragon (Atrium 2). Prices begin from $89 for a Le Pliage coin purse with additional costs for the long handle, embossing and embroidering.

I had a hard time deciding which two
colours to pick. Should I err on the safe side and go for a
tried-and-tested colour combi like navy and red? Or should I take a risk
and go for a bold pink on orange mix? After much thought, I decided to
play it relatively safe and went for a red bag with a purplish-blue
accent colour called bilberry instead of a typical navy blue.
I also opted to emboss my initials (CCCC) on the leather flap but
opted out of embroidering anything on the bag; I didn’t have anything
clever to say and it didn’t make sense to put my name there again. Now all that’s left to do is to wait. I am told that I will have to wait approximately four to six weeks for it to make its way to me. I can hardly wait.
