The festive season has just begun and with this begins our shopping spree. This season, be a smart shopper by looking out for good deals, not splurging too much, and getting indulged in budget shopping.
Looking at showrooms might lure you to the extent that you end up buying things you don't really need or already have and that too in bulk. The things are perfectly displayed to seize all your attention. But when you go out for shopping this festive season be a little more conscious and do your homework before stepping out.
Vinita Madaan, who works in a magazine and loves to shop says, "For me, shopping is relaxing and I always explore the market before purchasing anything because like this I get better deals and things at cheaper price. Also recently I have started doing online shopping. There are many sites that have great offers and heavy discounts and the best part is that its cash on delivery and the products can be exchanged. And I would like to suggest that one can always try to shop things out of season because this is the smartest way one can save money."
This is the time when people also buy gifts and things for their home decor. So spending wisely is crucial. Rubi Das Gupta, a housewife, says, "There are many beautiful things available in the malls but if one puts a little extra effort and go out in the local market they will find that the same things are available outside as well and at much cheaper rates. So I always try to do majority of my shopping from local markets as things are comparatively economical there."
Be Smart
• Shop with cash only and not with credit or debit card as one tend to spend more with cards.
• Don't be lured by sale because you will end up buying stuff that you don't need which results in overspending. Do not buy anything just because it is on sale.
• Keep your current wardrobe in mind when you shop, and don't buy anything that won't go with at least two or three other items that you own.
• Always give priority to the quality and not the quantity.
